Dominika Borovansky Gaines (MFA, BFA) is the Owner and Visionary behind Kinesphere Center for Movement Education, founded in 2001. Based in Phoenix, AZ Kinesphere Center is a unique, wellness-based studio that emphasizes cutting-edge and mindful movement practices for healing and optimizing the human body and spirit. From its inception, the studio has been committed to a pro-age environment, assisting clients to move well from midlife through their elder years. Dominika is well-known and admired in the movement community for her creative application of neuroscience, physiology and somatic awareness to movement instruction, clarity and precision in hands-on and verbal cueing, her cogent explanations of what is being taught and why, and nurturing each client’s and instructor's innate curiosity.

 

Ever curious about human movement and how to prolong health and well-being, Dominika has recently been delving in to neurology through Z-Health® Performance Solutions. She hold certifications in R-, I- , S- , and T-Phase and 9S: Structure and Next Evolution, which include: movement re-education via proprioception; visual and vestibular integration; the neurology of the brain stem, midbrain and cerebellum and application to movement; enhancing athletic performance; and therapeutic applications.

Dominika is also the Director of Phoenix GYROTONIC® at Kinesphere. Her own studies of and experience with the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® as a healing and joyful modality was the path to becoming a GYROTONIC® Master Trainer, GYROTONER® Master Trainer and GYROKINESIS® Pre-Trainer. She has studied directly under founder and creator of the system Juliu Horvath since 1999. As a Master Teacher, Dominika nurtures others to become trainers of the system, assisting each person to find their own voice within the body of this work, and mentoring teachers at every level.

 

Dominika has an extensive background in dance and movement, including the study of Anatomy, Dance Kinesiology, Ideokinesis and numerous somatic practices. She has previous held certifications as Nutritious Movement™ RES-CPT, PMA®-CPT and is a SmartSpine™ Ambassador. As a dancer, Dominika received numerous scholarships and awards for artistic and technical performance, was lauded for her choreography and from 1995-2002 was the Artistic Director of Semaphor DanceWorks, a company she founded. She holds both a BFA (85) and MFA (95) in Dance and Performance from Arizona State University.
